北野天満宮 Kitano Tenman-guu

While studying abroad, I was informed that on the 25th of April, there will be a event called Tenjinsai occurring at the Kitano Tenman-guu (wiki) in Kyoto. I remember that I was pretty hesitant to go, but I decided that I might as well experience more things while I’m in Japan. And what a mistake that was…

Before arriving at the Kitano Tenman-guu, a lost tourist from China was asking for directions when I was at the bus stop. Me and a fellow classmate tried to give directions at the cost of missing a bus. Not a issue at all and I hope that she got to where she needed to go.

湯浅醤油（有）＆和歌山マリーナシティ Yuasa Soy Sauce Ltd. & Wakayama Marina City

After the very long day of visiting the Wakayama Castle and various places at Mt.Kouya, this second day of our weekend trip will feel shorter by comparison. Upon waking up early at the temple where we slept overnight at, we prepared to leave for our final two destinations, with an expected return to Kyoto by evening.

At about 11am, we arrived at the Yuasa Soy Sauce company for a tour of their facility. Now, our tour guide spoke in Japanese and it was at a pace in which I can’t keep up with. In combination with the forgetfulness of time, I cannot really tell you much about the history of this place. However, I do think that this place may be where soy sauce was first produced though.

日本町 Japantown – April 27th 2013

While I have been planning to go to Japantown in early May, in order to pick up the latest volume of ToLoveRu Darkness, my friend called Kinokuniya and reserved supposedly the last copy for me. And so that push things up and we went on the last Saturday of April, the 27th.

Besides my usual friend that does everything with me, I was able to make plans with a friend, who was my roommate during my study abroad in Japan, to come to with us. It was the first time for the 3 of us to hang out together, as the two never met.

Life This Month 19 – April 2013

April certainly felt like a long month. I really cannot recall the beginning of the month very well. For sure, university began again after the break and I continued to crawl my way through, one step (day) at a time.

My desk as usual. I rearranged a couple things on the last day of April, in order to accommodate for my growing manga collection.
