Di:stage Basic Set Review

Flawless here, with a quick look at Max Factory’s di:stage Basic set. At about 500円 each, di:stages are built for Figma but it can be used for other figures as well. I initially wanted one for my SHF Gills.

I was quite surprised at the size of the box, I thought that it would be smaller but it’s actually the size of a Figma box, just thinner in terms of depth.

Open the box and you will see this: Bubble wraps? And are the speech bubbles on the side flaps meant to be used? No reason why not I guess.

Under the cardboard is an extra flap that contains a default skin for the di:stage. But you have to take apart the box to get it so I didn’t do it.

And here’s the content of the Basic set. Lots of plastic bags for you to open. ^ ^;

After taking everything out, this is exactly everything that comes with the di:stage Basic set. Lots of room could have been saved there….

I thought that I should show some examples using the di:stages but I haven’t really done much with it except to hold up figures. While the Figma stand is so-so, the amazing thing is the amount of customizations that you can do to it. The bad thing? Because the base is so small, you need to buy at least 5 or 6 stages to have enough room…

    I agree, you need to have at the very least two diStages to make any a good action scenes.
    They also make good Gunpla action display base. =D

      I only have 3. I want 9+….>.<;

      The stands' arms are kinda short for aerial poses though.

      @exa: As for the short arms, that you have to take from the normal figma stands and stick into the diStage (that’s what I’ve done).

      I actually did that and still think that it’s short. My aerial poses for gunpla tends to be really high off the ground. I usually use 1/100 bases for HGs for the extra length. ^ ^;

      But I hate how gunpla stand plugs into their crotch. It hinders leg movements. Can’t the the Exia Trans-Am pose, plus it’s quite distracting as well.

    and I have none…
    even action base is kinda expensive (1/2 price of HG) well di:stage is kinda expensive too for us here, sold around 900yen because it’s rare enough.

    My gundams are always on the ground too. Action bases take up too much place. I usually put them in Ver Ka stand and not any poses (posed them after completion for photography purposes only). Minimize the space taken up.

      I can’t help be feel pity for worrying about space and prioritizing it.

      If you like the generic UC pose and keep them that way, I think it’s a better reason than for space…
