MG ガンダムエクシア Gundam Exia WIP 6 – [Waist Armor]

It has been a long time since the last WIP (#5 in October)! It didn’t take me 3 months to build these but more like I built it in a month & just kind of stopped. ^ ^;

Anyways, let’s see what my current progress is at so far. 1st, let’s start with Exia’s skirt armors’ inner frame. Lots of nubs, needs to be sanded & painted too.

Some small parts for the face.

Attached on. Isn’t he handsome!? (°ω°)

Oh right, back to his crotch skirt armor.

Inner frame of the skirt armors are done.

The double joint of the skirt armor allows it to be lift up, pretty nice feature. Also some nice details behind it.

Also need to add the caps & joints on the hip. Sloppily painted but will be cleaned up.

Sanding this piece was very hard. I hate such irregular shaped pieces! >.<;

The binding claws that will mount the GN Drive. Sanded & ready to be painted.

Done & attached. I did a real fast & quick job on the red piece. The insides of it are quite messy. ^ ^;

Several shots of my current progress below:

Love this back shot actually. ^ ^

Now that I have used up every single inner frame piece (except for weapons), I think I will go onto building the armor parts that can secure his GN stripes, such as his forearms, shins, and thighs. I might also add some pieces to his head. Look forward to it maybe 2 months from now? ^ ^;;

    kinda late to comment. nice theme, what’s the name?

    like your inner frame paint, I still use gunmetal gaia and sometimes duralumin gaia.

      It’s never too late to comment. I read every single comment ever made on this blog after all. I don’t mind if anyone comments on posts over a year ago. Old posts still has significance.

      Thanks, I was very lucky to have stumbled upon this kind of paint. ^ ^

    hello sir, Your Exia was so Inspiring me, hemm could I do this to my exia inner frame with Tamiya Gun Metal spray can? because I didn’t have ane AB.
    and for the red piece what kind of red did you use?
    thank you sir. ^^

      I’m not sure how close the Tamiya Gun Metal color is to it, so you might want to test it out first. I don’t have an air brush either, the paint I used was Metallic Black Hammered spray paint.

      The red is actually just the plastic color, no paint but sanded.
      And no need to call me “sir”, I’m not even an adult yet.

    oh, so for the other parts you just sand it and then coating them, right?
    haha sorry for calling you with sir.

      For the white, red and blue parts, I sanded them which removes the plastic gloss and gives it a matte look.
      So everything besides the inner frame is bare plastic, no paints nor coating.
